AWESOME THINGS ABOUT TUSTIN UNIFIED & OUR SCHOOLS!
57 competitive Robotics teams District-wide, 32 qualified for State competition, 13 moved on to the World Championships winning seven awards, including one of our Orchard Hills teams becoming "World Champions!"
Nearly 2/3rds of high school graduates have completed ALL of the required courses for the University of California with a sufficiently high grade point average!
What are these? 4 years of college prep or AP English, 2 years of History and Government, 3 years of Math including advanced algebra and 2D and 3D geometry, 2 years of a language other than English, Visual / Performing Arts and a qualifying Elective.
How do Tustin students compare? 65% of recent graduates completed ALL of these, while Orange County students on average only did 90% as well - getting to 57%. The state average is 52% - meaning that fully one-fifth of Tustin students who meet this requirement would have NOT done so if we performed at state average.
Perhaps this is why we swamp the state average when it comes to our "college going percentage" as measured by the CA Dept of Education.
Our QUALITY Tustin Unified education makes a difference for hundreds of young people graduating each year - AND to their families, AND to the families they will have as adults! What we do matters!
51 Tustin Unified engineering students became Certified Solidworks Associates (CSWA).
13 career pathways exist for students who want to explore various career options.
College test scores and graduation rates continue to exceed both state and county averages year after year.
Tustin Unified graduates are 20% more likely to go to college than the average high school graduate.
Our partnership with Irvine Valley College enables students each year to earn their Associates degree at the same time they graduate from high school.
Our high school and middle school students are each offered Tustin Unified computer devices to assist in their learning, enabling many more learning opportunities and options. Tustin Unified also assists those families who do not have wi-fi access at home to secure it for our student's benefit with help from our technology vendors.
Our teachers are highly dedicated to student success. For instance, 653 teachers participated in optional professional development to become even more effective in supporting students.
About one-third of our students take advantage of opportunities to transfer to another Tustin Unified school for a special program or for personal reasons. Our focus on helping each neighborhood school progress every year assures that our entire district has high quality local schools strengthening their neighborhoods.
Top quality schools deserve proven, experienced and capable leadership. That is why I am asking you to support me for RE-ELECTION to the Tustin School Board in November 2022. Please click the link at the top of the page to add your name to our endorsement list! THANK YOU!
